Effective if Incongruous.
Many fads have been adopted by people — chiefly ladies — who wish their photographs to appear amid entirely distinctive and original surroundings. The strangest of all, probably, is the idea of a curtain Egyptian photographer,
"who conceived the idea of taking his fair sitters in the guise of sphinxes.
As can very readily be seen from the accompanying picture, the result is somewhat striking and these "sphinx-portraits" bid fair to become popular.
