THE CHILCOOT PASS DISASTER.
The following additional particulars of the terrible snowslide in the ChilcooS Pass on the
route to the Yukon goldfields are from an American contemporary : —
Sheep Camp (Alaska), April 4.
Chill, white, aud terribly treacherous, death aits upon the mountains that environ ChilcooS Pigs, not yet sated, it is feared, with the victims of last Sunday's appalling tragedy. With the number of dead estimated in miiiimuin at 50 or more, and the total rising possibly to over 100, tbe gravest apprehensions are entertained that other similar disasters will follow.
