Owing to limit of business the above quotations are nominal. The new find on Victoria Kange near Capleston is causing some excitement. Application has been made for three special claims of 100 acres each in the interest of the original projectors, and several other persons have applied for similar areas. The applications were dealt with by the warden on Thursday and Fr.day, who decided to recommend the Minister for Mines to grant one special claim o* 100 acres (Lord Bra«say) to the prospectors as a reward claim. In all the other cases he granted 30 acres special claims, leaving the balance open for apniicatiorj. There was a ru3h of applicants immediately, and a large area is now applied for. There is a strong feeling against granting larger areas, and for that reason applications for 100 acre claims met with sti-iimqus opposition, it beinp argued by the objectors that thr ground would pay well in the smaller areas. Witnesses gave evidence to the offect that the sbinc found would co from 3oz to \ snz per ton. It i 3 further ftated that there are t (>OO tons of stone of thi3 quality broken out on tha .
