Application has been made for three special claims of 100 acres each in the interest of the original projectors, and several other persons have applied for similar areas. The applications were dealt with by the warden on Thursday and Fr.day, who decided to recommend the Minister for Mines to grant one special claim o* 100 acres (Lord Bra«say) to the prospectors as a reward claim. In all the other cases he granted 30 acres special claims, leaving the balance open for apniicatiorj. There was a ru3h of applicants immediately, and a large area is now applied for.
