NEW SOUTH WALES v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA.

Sydney, January 8. The cricket match New South Wales v. Sooth Australia was faegua to-day. The weather was fine, and a good wioket had been prepared South Australia in their first innings made 159— Hill flooring 42 and "Darling 24. Howell took six wickets for 40, M'Kibbin feme for 62, Turner nil for 28, and Ooniaghim nil for 26. New South Wales lost four wickets for 110— Kelly not out 60, Noble not out 24. January 9. With four' wickets down for 28 runs yesterday the New South Wales team's show did not look any too rosy, but magnificent cricket by Kelly, Garxetfc, and M'Kibbin put a different complexion on affair*. Tae South Australians were deficient in bowling talent. The bulk of the team were tried without avail. New South Wales'a first innings totalled 420. The principal scores were : Noble 38, Kelly 108, M'Kibbin 75, Garrett 131. Reedman took one wicket for 68 runs, Jones eight for 157. One man was run out. January 11. The South Australians set to work with tbe uphill task of saving the one-innings defeat, and made a bad start, losing Lyons, Darlinp, and Hill for 25. Giffen and Reedman made a stand until the latter succumbed. Bailey t'oen joined his captain, and the two carried on a brilliant partnership, resulting in the addition of 70 runs before Bailey lost his wicket. Ths local fielding was excellent. The South Australians' second innings closed for 250, Reedman making 32, Bailey 45, and Giffen 104. New South Wales won by an innings and 11 rung. Coningham took four wickets for 69, Howell one for 43, and M'Kibbin four for 101. One man was ran out.
