WOOL AND GRAIN REPORT.

Messrs William E. Reynolds and Co , Bond street, report for the week ending 13th January as follows :— Wheat.—The dry continues in Australia and 1 in many parts of New Zealand. We hear the crops are past recovery, and this is helping to keep grain firmer. We quote prime velvet 4s lOd to 4s lid, Tuscan 4s 9d, led sorts 4s 8d (sacks in, terms). Oats are much about the same as when we last reported, and demand is fairly good. We quote prime feed and milling 2s, good (sound) Ik lid to Is lljd, ordinary Is lOd to Is 10£ d. Chaff is in full supply, and any but prime quality, which in worth up to £2 13k, is hard to place. Potatoes are much easier, as was only to be expected ; and prime can be quoted £6 10s, green £4 to £5. Wool.—There is no new development to note, and as the second sale of the season is fixed for to-morrow we need not add .more than that we do not look for much, if any, improvement on prices paid last sale. The Mutl-al Agency Company op New Zealand (Limited) report: — Fat Cattle —The yarding being a very full one, and being .unfortunate enough to draw last sale, we had to pass out the most of our offerings. Demand was quite unequal to supply. We sold for Messrs Docherty, Harrison, Listen, aHd others* heifers at £4 10s, bullo-ka at £6. Fat Sheep.—A very full supply of over 3000, W« sold : For Mr John Reid (Elderslie), 18K crossbred ewes at 10d 9d to 8s; Mr a. A. M'Masier (Tokorahi). 148 crossbred ewes at 7s 9d to 6* 9d ; Messrs D.Wallace and Sons (Clifferon Park), 120 crosp•ired wethers to 9s 9d ; Mr M. Lee (Greon Valley), 17 wethers at 8s 3d, 22 ewes at 6s fid; Mr J. G. Lewis (Portobello), 16 ewes and wethers at 7« 6d ; Air A. North, ewe 3 and wethers at lls 6d ; a el'ent, ewes and wethera at quotations. Fat Lambs. —Market considerably easier. We Eold : For Mr J. G. Lewi*, 12 at 7s 3d ; Mr T. Douglas, 00 at Sheepskins. —We held our usual weekly sale on Tuesday, and under good competition we sold a moderate catalogue at full value-. Crossbredß to 4s 10d, halforeds to 4s, merinos to 3s lOd. Gr*in and Produce.—We have little to add to our weekly report (published on Tuesday), except that we have since sold oats at 2s, wheat (Tuscan) at 4s Bd, chair at up to £217s 6d. WEEKLY MARKET REPORT. Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending January 13 All quotations subject to market fluctuations: — Ws would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a piice on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers. Wheat.—Market fairly brisk. We quote : Best velvet, 4s 6d to 4s lOd ; best Tuscans, 4s 4d to 43 8d ; red chaff, 4s 2d to 4s 8d ; fowls' wheat, 3s 2d to 4s. Oats in good demand : Prime milling, 2s ; bright short feed, Is lid. Barley : Feed sorts are quoted 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; nialtinc. from 3s fid to 3s 9d. Rye corn, 2s 9d. Flour: We quote £12. Oatmeal in 25'e, £11 10a. Pearl barley, £10 10s. Bran, £2 15s. Pollard, £i ss. Nelson hops are quoted at 10id. Potatoes: New kidneys, 5s 6d to 63. Chaff: Good quality, well-cut oaten sheaf, £2 10s to £2 12s 6d; medium (very little inquiry), 42s 6dto 47s 6d Ryegra9s : Farmers' lots, 2s to 2s lOd ; machined, 3s 3d to 4s (no sale). Cocksfoot, 4d to 4Jd for farmers' lots, and 4Jd to 5d for machined. Linseed, £9. Pressed straw, 27a 6d. Olover hay, £2 12s 61 to £2 15s Nitrate of soda, £15 Kainit, £5. Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &c, just landing. We can offer all classes of seeds pure and fresh. Rabbitakins. —The season is now over for these, and only_ a few lots are offering. We quote : Prime winters, lOd to 12d; springs, 6d to 8d; summer, 31 to 5Jd per lb. Sheepskins. —We quote: Butchers' pslts, 61 to Is 3d ; dry crossbreds, 2s 5d to 5* 6i ; merino, green, Is 6d to 4s 2d; dry merinos, 2s 3d to 3s 6d ; medium do. Is 6d to 2s. Hides, l}d to 3Jd, according to weight and condition. Tallow : Rough fat, 10a to 12s 6d; rendered, 13s to 16s. Horsehair, Is to Is 3Jd. Wool. —Our second sale takes" place on Thursday, the 14th inst., when we will offer a catalogue of 500 bales. There are several new buyers here, and we trust competition wOl be brisk, though we do not expect prices will show any improvement. FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Butter : Prinie salt, 6d per lb.
