EDUCATION BOARD.

Ameetiug of the Education Board heldyesterday afternoon was attended by Mr D. Borrie (chairman, the Hon. J. Mncgregor, M.L.C., Dr Stenhouse, Messrs T. Mackenzie, M.H.R., 11. Clark, J. Green, and J. J. Eamsay.

It was decided that a suggestion from the High street School Committee, that section 32 be disposed of. bhould stand over for the present.

The following tenders were accepted :— b'or conveniences at Kurow, E. W. Hardy, ,£3O 0b ; for raising terrace at Leith Valley, D. Ualder, ,£29 10s.

A claim from the Rae's Junction Committee for fencing was referred to the architect. An application from the Ahuriri Committee for the removal of the school was referred to the inspector to report. A report from the Ilyde Committee for temporary ast>is>tance was similarly dealt with. It was resolved to bend a chcular to school committees informing them that the board will net lecognise or pay any bub&idy on works done without, their sanction having beou first obtained.
