GOODS. It is a mistake to suppose that the Waterbury is a machine with a mainspring ac long as a bad dream, and a case suitable for a digger's fryingpan. This might perhaps be said of the one that t-aved Valentine in " Faust up to Date," but the Waterbury of to-day is of many kinds and variegated complexion. When we are in a sportive mood.we put a saddle and a jockey on him and land a Grand National, or when we wi^h to do the conventional at a wedding or a biithday party we select a "Misses" WaterLury, little larger than a florin, and gain at ot en the good graces of the recipient and her triends. For boys and men greater bulk and loss ornamentation is provided, but the movements in every case are those of the trusty Waterbury, synonymous with correct time ; and the variety of casing — gold, silver, and i.ickcl — which a range of price from 13s 6d to three guineas permits, is ample enough to satisfy the most exacting. The new Wateri>urys will bear critical inspection, and a visit to >'v- agents may reßult in a Baying of many (j.-mnds. The day of gaudy, expensive timekeepers is over, and the Waterbury reigns. Beware of substitution. Many sharks exist, vi d there is quite a demand for Waterbury boxes, which, when containing a trashy imitation, frequently delude buyers.
