(Pbb Press Association.) . _ London, December 13. At the wool sales faulty and burry wools are neglected, and prices are weak all round. A large number of bales have been withdrawn. Australian shipments brought from 8d to Is l^d per lb. December 14. At the wool sales competition was better and prices slightly firmer. Heavy burry wools are neglected. December 15. The wool sales closed fairly spirited. The Continent has taken 135,000 bales, America 5000, and Great Britain 70,000. The number of bales withdrawn is 7000. Compared with previous sales merino scoured wools are £d to Id dearer, greasy good combing fully dearer, greasy short faulty sortß are at par to %& dearer, lambs' wool also dearer ; crossbreds fine scoured wool' £d lower than last sales. The wool market continues active, and all descriptions are meeting with good inquiry. Prices have not recovered from the recent slight fall, but competition is well sustained. French and German buyers are operating freely. Up to date 224,000 bales have been offered, of which 200,000 were sold. The wool sales held to-day and till late in the evening showed buyers were eager to 83CUX6 good lines of bright half and crossbred wools. Halfbreds realised up to 9£d ; crossbred, 6£d to 84, d; merinoß, 5d to 7-Jd ; best pieces, to 7d. - Messrs Dalgety and Co. have, received the following cablegram from their head* office, dated London, sth December :— " As compared with these sales' opening ratcß prices have closed all round less firm, especially for inferior and faulty qualities. Out of the net quantity available for sale Homo 73,000 bales have been sold for Home consumption, 135,000 bales for the Continent, and 5000 bales for America, leaving 8000 bales to be carried forward to the next series. Total catalogue) 226,000 in all, of -which 80 per cent, is Australian, the difference represents wool twico catalogued and wool sent to London for re-sale."
