Messrs Findlay and Murdoch are the successful tenderers for the supply of kauri, red and white pine, and foreign timbers to the Hurunui-Bluff section of tho rail wa vs. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated December 17:— "Frozen Meat: Market unchanged. At Ohristchtlrch on Saturday the Whtterock estate of 40,298 acres was offered for sale by the N.Z.L. and M.A. Company. There was no bid for the property as a whole, and the subdivisions were then offered. For Kai'etu, or Young's fcountry, of 8700 acres, £1 15s an aero was offered, when it was withdrawn.
