ODDS AND ENDS.

— The reason why the world grows uo better is because each one is trying to convert his neighbour, and neglects himself.

I'OHCK of Habit.— Care is required in the formation ot habit, seeing its important bearing on character. Many characters are^spoiled through inattention to the most ordinary and simple matters. Some drink tea and coffee through the mere force of habit, " because it is usual to do so," regardless of the penalty oftentimes of nervousness and itldigestiou.
