I. A new boy — untriended, anil, timid, and s>lij — Who losltb at the iellows with wondering eye ; He's "out, of it, all " in the hurry and push. And longs to be bade at his lionie in the bush : .So chaff not, and ask not too often his name— liemembur, oh, youngster, tho day when you came. IT. Tho' raw and a duller, perhaps lie may grow To be the one fellow you're proudest, to know . The chosen companion, the steadiest friend, Who's ready your name as his, own to defend, Who'll stand by you iirinly thro' good and thro' ill, And tho' you be parted will think of you still. Til. Tt may be, the new boy you hold but n weed May win us the battle in utterest need. May play lor fche twenty and row tor Ihe i-iew And come to be dux of the Grammar School too. And think, when at>muider you hear of Jii.s win, How jolly to know that you welcomed him in. — C, in tho Geelong Grammar School Quarter!} .
