The Labour Market.
Mr Skeni. reports for the week ending 16th inst. : — Spi ing orders for stations are coming in. lam placing couples, shepherds, muslerers, and cooks, hut at reduced wages. Ploughmen and farm hands area little brisker. Dairy liaml-> btill get fair pay and fiood work. It is useless to shut our eyes to the fact, that so many of our heat men are leaving us, Families and all aro leaving in disgust. It looks rather strange to see our legislators voting money to govern Ne-w Guinea, and our own people ervins; out ior bread. It is not large wage* that are wanted, but, steady employment, better tfOs a week and steady work than 10s to day and hunger for a fortnight. There is a good demand ior girls, and useful country girls can let Al wanes. Town work is very dull, and business is past praying for.
