A meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, the 30th June. Present — Messrs Shand, Grant, Stevenson, and Adams. A letter was received from Mr T. — A curious exhibition (says the British Colonial World) has lately been on view in the north of London. It consisted of nothing but an array of cigar ends collected during seven years' peregrinations up and down the metropolitan thoroughfares. The enterprising collector reckons that in this time be has travelled nearly 12,000 miles on foot, and he has picked up 600,000 pieces of cigar, averaging an inch and half each. He is said to have valued his stock, thus literally composed of odds and ends, at £ISOO.

— In accordance with a new rule with the Institute of Painters in Water Colours, members will in future be elected solely on the ground of the excellence of their exhibited works. The first three artists elected under this rule were Messrs Ludwig Passini, Thomas Huston, and G. F. Wetherb«3.
