be added to what I have already said about it. It simply incorporates a huge trust company for dealing in Native lands as agents for the aboriginal owners. What potentialities are opened up can readily be imagined. It is not known yet when the question will come up, or what action, if any, Government will collectively take upon it. Rumour still persists in representing the Premier as a cordial supporter, and Mr Bryce as a determined opponent of the measure ; but this may be mere gossip. Sir George Grey preserves a judicious reticence, but it is believed by his friends that he is waiting for Ministers' movements to decide his own course, and that if they support the bill, then he will oppose it, notwithstanding his nephew, Mr Seymour George, being a director ; but that if Government do not declare in its favour he will not deem it worth while to bother himself seriously about the affair. _
