The flag fell without a break away, and Montauban at once rushed to the front, being soon clear of Black Prince, Athlacca, Cortolviu, and Downpatrick, with Zitella heading the others, Eau da Vie lying on her right, whilst Mohican brought up the rear. At the first fence Black Prince ran up to Mantauban, !*nd the pair charged it in close company, whilst Zitella wag at their heels, with Jolly Sir John and Downpatrick next. As they approached the second fence Montauban and Black Prince were still going well in front of Zitella and Athlacca, whilst Eau de Vie had a good position on their right. The next obstacle proved fatal to Jolly Sir John, who refused it, and was thence out of the race. Athlacca charged the fence so closely with Montauban and Black Prince that he appeared to be leading, but he was^never in front. As they approached Beecher's Brook Athlacca, Montauban, and Black Prince were in a oluaser, and the jump was taken in grand style, whilst Zitella, Downpatrick, and Coriolvin were closely laid up, with Zoedone and Eau de Vie next. At Valentine's Brook Zitella ran up to the leaders, whilst Eau de Vie had a good position in attendance on them. Zoedone at this point was in the last division, but as they approached the racecourse she worked through her horses, and was first in the open as they pot to the hurdle preceding the ditch, where Zitella jumped in advance of Zoedone, Black Prince, Montauban, and Eau de Vie, whilst the water was t.akcu in grand style by Zitella, Zoodone Black Prince, Montauban, Cortolvin, Athlacca, and Mohican in the order given. In the country Zitella had still the lead, with Mon» tauban, Eau de Vie, and Black Prince inlatten dance, aud Mohican last. At the second fenoa Oortolvin fell, aud Eau de Vie rushed up to tha Irish niare as they approached Beepher'# Brook, Yfhichwas taken by Zitella, Moiifaqb&K,

Eau de Vie, and Black Prince in clo=e company. Immediately^ they had landed Downpatrick became last. Zoedone again went up as they approached Valentino's Brook, which she jumped in front of Zitella and Black Prince. In the big field all the .steel was out of Athlacca, who dropped into the rear, whilst soon afterwards Ea\i de Vie gave symptoms' of having had enough of it. Zoedone had then the race in hand, aud making the best of her way home, she landed on the racecourse six lengths in front of Black Prince, with Downpatrick third, and the hard-driven Eau de Vie next. Zitella at this point was beaten, and Mohican gradually approached the front rank ; Zoedone came on at her ease, and was 10 lengths in front aa they entered the straight. Downpatrick momentarily passed Black Prince at the bottom turn, but he was beaten at the distance, and Black Prince was the only one left beside Mohican to follow the leader home ; but Zoedone cantered along at her leisure, and won by 10 lengths ; six lengths between second and third, and third and fourth; Montauban fifth, and Zitella sixth, trotted in a long way before Eau de Vie and Athlacca, who were beaten an immense distance.
