The Wyndham Road district, County of Southland has been subdivided. Under "The Public Domains Act, 1860," the Governor has delegated certain powers to the Hawksbury Domain Board. E. D. O'Halloran, of Temuka, and Hugh Gourlay, of Tokomairiro, have been appointed registrars of births, marriages, and deaths, and vaccination inspectors for their respective districts. s H. W. Brewer, E. F. Bich, and E. Patten have been appointed emigration officers under " The Passengers Act, 1855." James Farquharson and Wm, R. Thornhill have been appointed rangers under "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," within the Provincial District of Otago, and aL-o officers for the management and protection of salmon and trout with the same district. . John Kerr has been appointed manager of the Portobello Cemetery, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Niels Peter Hjorring, Mayor of Naseby, William Martin Innes, Mayor of Port Chalmers, and Samuel Gibbs, Mayor of Oamaru ? to be Justices of the Peace under "The Otago Municipal Corporations Empowering Act, 1865." An abstract of the Portobello Cemetery accounts appears in the Gazette. In accordance with the provisions of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," a notice with reference to the Borough of Invercargill proposed new loan of £20,000 is gazetted. ■ A list of Natives now detained in prison under "The Maori Prisoners Act, 1880," and "The Maori Prisoners' Detention Act, 1880," is published for general information.
