Commence with six quarts of mixed milk and muoilage a day, inoreaßing a quart eaoh succeeding week till between threa and four months old, when it may be weaned. Hay tea, made by pouring boiling water on sweet, nutritious hay ib an excellent addition. G. H. Stiaiu the liquid through a fine sieve or strainer, and add to it a peck of salt, previously well dissolved in warm water; 3 pounds ground rice, boiled to a thin paste, and Btirred in boiling hob j \ pound powdered Spanish whiting ; acid 1 pound of clear jrluo, whioh has been already dissolved by soaking it well. Then hang over a omall fire, in a . small kettle within a large one filled with water. Add 5 gallons of hot water to the mixture; stir well and let it Bland a few days, covered from the dirt. It should bo put on right hot ; for that purpose it can be kept in a bottle on a portable furnace. It ia said that about a pint of this mixture will cover a equare yard on the outside of a house, if properly applied, F. L. H.— For Italian cream, pour one pint of milk over one packago of gelatine ; let it stand an hour, then pour over ib a quart of boiling oream, sweotenod to tho tasto, and stir till dissolved. Then add the yolks of eight eggs well beaten ; flavour with vanilla, or any other exbraofc. When it begins to thicken, pour it into the mould. E. A.L — Salts of lomon will generally remove ink spots.
