Crickets o'er the paths are leapingLilie3 o'or the brooks are weeping ' Shadows o'er the hills are creeping At eventide. Shepherds home their flocks are leading Seeking reit that all ate needing, Lovers to their tryat are speeding At eventide. Sunflowers on their loaves are closing Cattle iv the flslds are dozing, Mature everywhere repoaing At eveutide. Xot everywhere is Nature sleeping, For in my heart sad watch she's keeping, And for my lost love aye shea weeping At erentide. Duaedin, October, 1879.
