A slight collision occurred between the Achilles and Alexandra ironclads. The damage has been repaired. The Italian Press warmly welcomed the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone to Italy. The Spanish Premier advises an alliance with Austria.
The Crown Prince of Germany proceeds to Italy on a political mission. Russian journals are again warlike, and speak of war with Germany, Austria, and England as inevitable in a few months. Russia has increased her navy in the Pacific by one ironclad, and four clippers are available as privateers.
