Evidence was given to-day which corroborated the previous day's statements as to beer being ordered by Machattje, and consumed by the electors in the commictee-room, with other refreshments. Machattie applied to Mr Hurst's agent, Brooking, for L 5, half of the expenses for refreshment, but Mr Hurst refused to p»y, as he had not authorised them. Machattie's counsel raised several technical objections. His Worship reserved judgment till Thursday.
