IMMIGRATION AND EMIGRATION.
We thank Mr J. It, Monson, the emigration officer at Fort Chalmers, for his courtesy in supplying us with the official returns of immigration and emigration at the Fort of Otago for the month ending 30th September, 1879/ They are as follow, and show that a total of 641 persons hare arrived, and 135 persons left the port during the period stated, giving a total of 506 persons in favour of the district ; — IMMIGRATION.
