"Wellington, Saturday, The St. Kilda is under orders to convey the Governor to Kawau.
There was a meeting of Mr Bunny's constituents at Wairarapa. A proposal of a vote of confidence in him was negatived.
The delegation under the Goldfields Act of the management of the Goldfields, to the Executive Government of Otago, is proclaimed. The cost of management and administration is also proclaimed to be regulated by Acts of the Provincial Council.
Monday. The New Zealand Times has stopped, and called a creditors' meeting.
700ozs of gold were received at Auckland, the produce of two claims. The New Zealand Banking Company's report shows L 44.054 3s 3d profit for the half-year, and declares 17 per cent, dividend, with L2OOO additional to reserve fund, or a total of LIG,IIB 6s 4d. Tuesday. Tenders have been called for erecting a spacious Ball Room for the reception of the Prince, in the rear of the Government House, to be afterwards converted into permanent apartments for the Governor's family.
