Wallace A. &P. Show.

The Wallace A. and P. Association held their second annual show on Wednesday, when, despite the unfavourable weather, there was a good attendance of the general public. Compared with last year's entries there were about 100 less this year — the figures being 536 for 1904, and 450 for 1905 — but as these were chiefly m the produce line (scones and eggs) the public hardly noticed the difference. As was to have been expected, horses and fat sheep formed the strong features of the show, but the older draught stallions were poorly represented, owners probably. thinking it useless to compete against Tarn O'Shauter. There were good entries m the other draught classes, particularly m the yeld mare class and m the younger draughts. Thoroughbreds did not show up very weU as far as numbers went, but the quality o\ those entered was excellent. The entries m the light horse classes — hacks, harness, and ponies — were very numerous, and called forth much favourable comment from the judge. The cattle shown were disappointing m numbers, and were not at all an indication of what the district can do m this line. Mr Officer's Polled Angus bull and cow attracted a great deal of attention, and the exhibit of Hereford bulls was also satisfactory. The entries m sheep this year showed a marked advance on last year, the fat classes being very good. Border JLeicesters were scarce^ but the champion ewe had fine quality. The entries m Romneys were only fair, despite the presence of the Dunedin champion and some fine exhibits from the well-known flocks of Messrs King, Cameron and others. The entry of wether hoggets and fat shorn wethers was exceptionally good and the crossbred ewes looked well, but Lincolns were weak. Messrs Ryan and C. Gardiner's pens of ten

and five respectively were beautiful lots, and deservedly carried off honours. The jumping of the hunters created a great deal of interest; and - ! the high jump drew a large crowd..
