Waicola School Concert.

The opening of the new soboolhouse; at Waicola was celebrated on Friday, 10th inst, when there was a large attendance, the building being taxed to its utmost capacity. The chair •was occupied by Mr Coster, who, m a few brief remarks, outlined the difficulties that had to be contended with before the school was established. The following is the programme : — Duet, Doris Harrington and Maggie Ferguson ; action eong by 12 children quartette, Messrs Coster and Edwards and Mesdaines Coster and Harrington (2) ; duet, Jessie Ferguson and M. S. Clifford ; song, Mi* Jas Gordon ; song, Mr Swhan , song, Mrs Coster; song. Mr Hawthorn; exhibition of dumbbell exercise by tbe children ; dialogue by Jessie Ferguson, Susie Clifford, Eoue Pallet,' Mary Coster, Lilly Hill,

and Walter Harrington ; song* Mr T Carroll; duet, Master Clifford Coster and Mr G. F. Edwards ; song, Mr Coster ; duet, Mesdames E, and A. Harrington ; song r Miss W. Bodds ; song, Jessie Ferguson, Mary and Susie Clifford ; Recitation, Miss S. Flynn ; song, Mr Gordon ; song, Mr T. R. Carroll ; dialogue, Mr E. Clent. The funds of the JJschool will benefit to the extent of about £17 as the result of the entertainment. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks wag accorded to the perfoim rs and chairman. A supper, provided by the ladies was then hande I round, to w'lich ample justice was done, and the procredings terminated.
