Wallace County Council.
BIENNIAL ELECTION OF MEMBERS. The poll for the election of members for the Wallace County Council, took place on Wednesday last. Every riding having more than the required number of candidates, decided its choice at the ballot box. The new council comprises : — Otautau Riding : D. Clark and W. Affleck. Aparima Riding : J. Fraser and R Cupples. Wairio Riding: J. Ford and J. J. Newton. Orepuki Riding : H. Hirst. Waiau Riding : James King. Mararoa Riding : F. Dyer. In each riding the contest was keen, and a good deal of interest was evinced both before and after the poll.
