Wedding Bells.

WALKER-GARDINER.

An interesting ceremony was performed, m the presence of a number of relatives and well-wishers, at Otautau, on Wednesday, when Mr W, Walker, eldest son of Mr Wiliiam Walker, of Winton, and Miss Mary jane Gardiner, grand daughter of the late William and Jane Lawson, and daughter of Mrs J. Gardiner, Otautau, were united m the holy bonds of matrimony. The ceremony which was performed by the Rev. A. Macdonald, took place at the residence of the bride's mother. The bride, who was given away by her brother,' Mr William Lawson Gardiner, looked exceedingly well m a white si k voile dress, trimmed with chiffon, transparent yoke, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. Miss N. Gardiner, only sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, and was attired m a becoming dress of cream silk voile, trimmed with obiffon and insertion, and white hat trimmed with white tips and tulle. Mr John Walker aoted as best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome dagger set with stones, and to the bridesmaid, a gold ring. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the company adjourned to the diningroom, where the wedding breakfast was served. After ample justice had been done to the good things provided, the health of the bride and bridegroom waa duly honoured.'and the happy couple left amidst showere of confetti, by tbe afternoon train, for Christohurch. where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride's travelling dresses were % brown Eton costume, with hat to matoh, and a grey orep de chene, with cream chiffon hat, trimmed with silk, and pink rose. The following is a list of the presents : — Bride's cake, dining-room furnishings, Eider quilt, overmantels, bedroom lamp, bread board and knife, table linens, 4 cane chairs, buggy rug. travelling rug, Japanese table, fanoy work, album, cutlery, butter and jam knife, afternoon teaspoons, 4 pairs vauses, set Tennyson's poems, two sets oarvers, serviette rings, bread fork, afternoon tea set, jam dish, greenstone heart, two cruets, three silver sugar scuttles, Bible and one Church Praise, cake dishes, two weather glasses, bisouit barrel, two butter dishes, two hot water jugs, pickle jar, two silver teapots, card holder' silver-backed hair brush and comb, pair hand painted photo ; frames, hanging lamp, dinner set, bedroom set, set of irons, pots, hot water jugs, besides several cheques.
