MEETING AT DRUMMOND.

The provisional committee visited Drummond on Monday evening, and held a meeting m the Drummond Hall. About 40 residents of the township and farmers of the district attended. A similar address to that delivered at the other centres was made by the actingsecretary, and at its conclusion a. number of questions were asked whioh, being satisfactorily answered, 40 shares were applied for. The 500 shares decided as the minimum to start the society are now almost covered, the actual applications being 492 shares. In order that no district adjacent to Otautau should be neglected, the committee have, decided to hold a meeting at Aparima, m the public school, on Thursday, 14th inst. The committee have been successful m obtaining the shares required to start m half the time allowed at the inaugural meeting, and are extremely gratified at the enthusiastic manner m whioh the project has been received.
