The next sheep centre m importance was Otautau, with 21,297, and then followed Centre Bush with 19,721. Other important sheep stations were: Lumsden 12,374, Winton 11,788, Invercargill 10,172, Itiveradale 10,124, and Makarewa 7058. Among the country Btations Winton despatched the greatest number of horse?, namely 85, Otautau being second with 77. At Invercargill 480 horses were handled and at Gore 220. In oattle output Edendale headed the list with 1379, then followed Invercargill 791, Watmahaka 643, Woodlands 611, Gore 549, and Makarewa 474. In pigs Edendale was also at the head of the list with 580. Invercargill was second with 499, and Waimahaka and Winton were well up with 275 and 263 respectively. The statistics of the timber trade are specially interesting. Biverton handled the largest quantity, viz., 7,505,500 super feet. Then came Invercargill 7,258,000 super feet, Orepuki 8,748,100 super feet, Woodlands 2,740,000 -anper feet, Otautau 1,17t.700 super feet. Winton 1,358,500 super feet, and Waimahaka 1,350,400 super feet. Among the coun' ry stations Gore put out Ihe largest quintity of grain, 10,886 tons. Biversdale was second with 6882 tons, Otautau was third with 6840 tons, and . Makarewa fourth with 6768 tons. The .' business of Bluff In this commodity was 41,536 tons.
