1 The Inspector of Mines m Southland has . reported the exposure at the Ourawera claim, Round Hill, of thirty or forty impressions of » birds' feet, m a good state of preservation. The bottom on which the impressions were found rests on an ancient creek bank, the , cover consisting pf thrae layers of old forest trees and lignite beds. The front toes of the - feet are plainly discernible, but the hinder toe is less prominent m most cases* The i manager of the mine is taking steps to pieerve the iinprinti.
