INCREASED BORROWING.

(to the editor),

Sir — I notice, from your columns, that the Town Board proposes to raise another loan. 1 hope the ratepayers will nave a say first, how the money is to be spent. At present we are ail pa3 7 ing an extra rate for the main drain, which only benefits those living m the Main Street. If we are going m for further borrowing, we want to know where the money is going to be spent. Some of us m the back streets have been paying rates for a great many years, and very little attention is paid to requests for. improvements o". side streets. I don't suppose the Board's income is big enough to meet all demands m a growing town, and we cannot help borrowing now and again. Still those of us who cannot afford section^ m the . main block want something done from public expenditure, when we are specially taxed for it.— Yours etc., Ratepayer.
