District School Affairs.
The following was* transacted at the Education Board's meeting held on the sth inst. — '
Nightcaps — lhe half cost of an additional shelter shed was granted and the committee was empowered to carry out the work.
LuiMSDEN — The architect was instructed to prepare plans and specifications for erection, of additions to be made to the school — the cost not to exceed the amount of the special grant promised by the department.
Technical School —It was agreed that application be made to the Department for a special grant for the erection of a technical school (woodwork and cookery rooms) m the Riverton district.
Orepuki — The executive committee reported the. appointment of John McLeod (ist year p. t.
Round Hill — The architect was instructed to prepare plans and specifications for erection of additions to the school— cost not to exceed the amount of special grant promised by the department. Fairfax — Arrangements were made to supply this school with a lignite grate.
