Sib—l have this evening received ~A request to oppose any clause in the new Gaming and Lotteries Bill intended to place further restrictions on TattertallV consultations. The reauest is signed by 173 electors of ihinemuii, l>ut no letter or other indication of who were the promoters has been sent with it. I cannot, therefore, acknowledge itsreceipt, ex c^pt by asking you to insert this letter, and, to kindly inform the pro- • moters that the request will be duly considered and that any letters written to me on the subject will be duly considered also.
