MALE CHOIR CONCERTS
Eor the two concerts to be given by the f>uiiedin - Male Choir in Burns TT fl ll 011 Tuesday and Wednesday next splendid programmes have been arranged. The choir no#?; directed by Mr Victor Gal way, promisieis 'Ho acquit itself exceptionally' -well The-part-songs include the famous and bestknown excerpt from "Wagner's great opera "Tannhauser," -tvhioh depicts the approach' of the pilgrims on their return from Rome. "The Phantom Host" ia a magnificent composition, and can be beet described as a realistic piece of word-painting instinct with: dnuratio fire- That dignified and magnificent work, "Hymn Before Action," which Was composed by the organist of the Temple!, _Cbtirch, London, will be sure to meet with _ approbation, as will also the other five items by the choir. The solo vocalists are Mrs John Fraser, of Christchurch, and Mr W. GemmelL Messrs J. A Wallace, F. Drake, _ and CJ. A. Martin will be the instrumentalists. The box plan is at- the Bristol, where seats may be reserved /for both eveninga.
