"THE MIRACLE MAN"

The bos plan for "Tho Miracle Man" opened yesterday morning. and the booking % the first day was most gratifying and portends great things. This master picture is said to reach a standard _ not hitherto reached in motion pictures, rising to the sublime, and portraying u. remarkable phaso of human nature. It has well been called a drama of tho soul, for it shows - what amazing contrasts may be reached in the inner consciousness of a man. It drives homo tho great lesson that is needed at present, love and faith, not hi a "preachy " way, not even with any visible effort, but with a force none tho less definite for nil that. It is said to teach what has been, and is being, continually urged from the pulpits of this country. The Miracle Man" is the st<sry "of an old man, dumb and almost blind, who, by his faith and love, has tho power of imparting his faith and healing to other*, in body as; well as in soul. The extraordinary metamorphosis which is gone through by "a gang of "crooks" who come in contact with him, with a view to making money out of him, is the main point round which the plot hinges. The management of the Empire Theatre has determined ncrt to be outdone by the other cities, and has engaged Madame Annette Hayward, opcratw contralto, late of the Carl Rosa Opera Company, to follow on her success attained in the northern ccntres. Also, Mr J. V. Maling, musical conductor for tho Olvmpic Theatres, Sydney, arrived last night, and conducted the first rehearsal of the specially compiled music, after yesterday evening's performance. Intendingpatrons are advised to secure reservations at the Bristol to-day to avoid disappointment. " The Miracle Man " will oommenco at this matinee to-morrow.
