DRAINAGE BOARD REPORTS.

The following reports will be presented to the Drainage liord at its next- meeting:-

The Works Committee reports recommending, in l'osiicct to tho delay in supplying junctions for the line of 18in pipe sewer, that tlie penalty be enforced, a.- the board will be put to the expense of fixing junctions whon required for house connections; having accepted the tender of J. Russell and Sons of £443 13s for the erection of a residence for the pumping station engineer. Concerning day labour works, the commitee reports for the fortnight ended April '9:— Nort.li-Ea«t Valley branch sewer: 'Hie third shaft is bottomed at Tanna Hill, making the total aggregate depths of shafts 70 lineal feet. Three liundrod and forty-nine feet of driving has been completed. The ground has turned out much easier to work th'au was expected. One hundred lineal feet of 24in pipe sewer has been laid at the intersection of Frederick and Clyde streets. About 240 lineal feet of trench in Clyde street i» excavated. High and St. Andrew street storm-water culvert: 163 lineal feet of 4ft. culvert has been concreted up io the springing and 256 lineal feet of trench excavated. St. Kilda railway ditch: Forty lineal feet of pipes have been laid, and 400 lineal feet of trench excavated ready for pipes. Accounts amounting to £1704 0s 5d were examined and passed for payji»nt. The Finsuicc Committee reports that accounts amounting to £17 15s Id were passed for and cheques signed. Since the last meeting of the committee the sum of £5577 19s 5d has been paid into the credit of the aggregate fund. The pass books were laid on the table, showing credits:-Aggregate fund, £8931 Oa lOd; trust aooouat, £30 Da 9d.
