MORAY PLACE SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.

A fine day and good congregations signalised the celebration of the anniversary of the Moray l'lace Sunday School. The Rev. \Y. i). M'Larcn, MA, who is attending to the duties of the pastorate in the absence of the minister (the llev. W. Saunders), preached both morning and evening, giving in the morning a. helpful and impressive address to the assembled scholars. Speaking from the words " The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree," lie said one of the first conditions to nourishing was flat the tree, arid, inferentiallv, the child should be properly planted; secondly, to flourish happily thero imist be pleasant progress, and to complete the objective aiio there must, be praiseworthy purpose. The whole address \v:t.s particularly calculated to appeal to children and impress itself upon t'liem. 'L'iie afternoon service was taken by the Rev. T. Perkins. pastor of the St. Clair Church. His address was also one of a helpful character for the children, and related particularly to the incident in the Old Testament connected with the slaving of Goliath by David. From the relation of the facts the speaker said each and all by their everyday actions revealed their inner characters; however they might, be disguised, our actions must in the end lie a reliable index to the character. So were David's actions in this case eloquent of his worth. llis care iukl thoughtfulncss were exemplified by his initial cure prior to his entering upon the combat; ho carefully selected liis weaixuis and tin 1 stones for his sling, ami by taking more than tile requisite number showed his appreciation of the value of a margin, l'elling and forceful illustrations were given at this point as to the effect of a realisation of the value M ''margins" upon one's life, particularly in childhood.
