THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION.
Mr \V. F. Massey, M.H.R., loader of tho Opposition in the present Parliament, arrived in Dunedin on Wednesday night, and has taken up Ins quarters at tho Otago Club. Mr Mnssey purposes spending about a fortnight in Otago, and will deliver several political addresses at various country centres. On Monday he speaks at Lawrence, and on Tuesday evening at Milton. Tho full arrangements for the tour havo not yet been made, but it is probable that Mr Massey will speak at Gore on Wednesday or Thursday night, and will also pay a. visit to Invercurgill. No address will bo delivered in Dunodin on this occasion, but after tho next session it is the intention of the leader of the Opposition to epeak in both Dunodin and Christel'Urch. During tho present visit south Mr Mtesey will speak in South Canterbury and most likely will take part in tho unveiling of the Temuktt memorial to tho kto Hon. William Rolleston. Tim requisition to speak at Milton, which was handed to Mr Massey on Wednesday evening by Mr Donald Reid, M.H.R., who, in tho hbsenco of Mr James Allen, is looking after the political interests of Bruce, contained over ZOO signatures. _ Mr Massey purposes remaining in Dunedin until Monday, when ho leaves b> tho express for tho south.
