THE PEERING POKY BINDER.

A very successful trial was given yesterday of the Deering "Pony" Eeaper and Binder by the agents (Messrs Reid and Gray) in tha paddock of oats belonging to Mr Robert Brims opposite the Junctioa Hotel. The crop operated upon was cut on tbe green side, and in some places proved to be a very faeary one. The " Pony " opened out, tasking a track completely round the paddock, which evoked the remark from the veteran Bob Brims : " I hwe had all makes of reapers and binders cutting here, hut none have ever done this but the • Pony.'" The scene of operations was visited during the day by a large number of fanners attending the stock sale in the yards opposite, who were all well pleased at the work the machine was doing, and greatly surprised afc the lightness and draught, due to its ball end roller bearings, which reduce the draught fully one-third. It is aleo particuiariy adapted ta heavy crops, its elevator extensions permitting long grain to reach the binding meeh&Bkm without being doubled up in binding. ' The " Pony "■ is made particularly light, the result; of using good steel aud malleaUa instead of cast iron, and for the same reason is a very strong machine. It is the ideal binder for hilly laud, because of its low centre of gravity, which makes it less likely to tip on a hillside.— N. O. Times.
