Messrs Barry and Co., In their circular dated June 30 repolt: - Jute Fabrics.—The past fortnight has witnessed an extremely dull market in all branches of the trade with the exception of woolpaoks, for which there has been a good demand for early shipment. Orders for cornsacks are held, but buyers, in the hope of obtaining a concession on association minimum rates from the outside manufacturers, have for the present withdrawn from the market. Bran bags have been inquired for and, being scarce, are held for lis. 21-4; narrow cloth bags are, however, still available at Hs. 21 (association mlnimumj. The American Coinage Bill Is still undecided, and exchange hat In consequence continued to fluctuate, closing to-day at Is 6Jd per rupee for six months drafts on London. Indian Teas.—Quotations remain very firm at the rates established a fortnight ago, with no Immediate prospect of material change. About 55 per cent, of the teas lately auctioned have realised prices ranging from 7d to lOd per Ib. There has been good inquiry from the colonies, resulting in considerable purchases for shipment by the Bhundara and Booldana; tbo grades chiefly ordered by Australia and New Zealand are in full supply, and quality generally Is rather over the average standard. Messrs Balmer, Lawrie report on the same date:— C*Btor oil: Eainy weather Is interfering with the production, and unsold stock being very limited the market waß very much exolted, and buslneßi to the extent of about 2500 cases has passed at Bs. 11-12-0 to Bs. 12-1-0.
