OTTY POLICE COURT.

Monday, July 28. (Before Messrs J. Hyman and Colin Allan, J.P's.) Drunkenness.—For being found drunk whilst in charge of a horse, James Murphy (against whom there were 12 previous convictions) was fined 40s, in default seven days' imprisonment. Four other inebriates were also dealt with. (Before Messrs J. Hyman, Colin Allan, and B. Hallenstein, J.P's.) Street Disturbances.—Wm. Revlech and Joseph Bright, two sailors belonging to the Crusader, were charged with behaving in George street on Saturday night in a manner whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned.—After evidence had been given by the police, to the same effect as the statement published in our columns yesterday, the accused were each fined £5, in default 14 days' imprisonment. Bright was also subsequently charged with fighting with William Cooper in Rattray street on Saturday night.—lt appeared that while the police were arresting Revlech for creating a disturbance in George street, Bright ran away, and was afterwards arrested in Rattray street for fighting with Cooper.—The Bench fined the latter 4s, with the alternative of 24 hours' imprisonment ; and iofiicted a fine of £5, in default 14 days' imprisonment, in the case of Bright; the sentence to run concurrently with that previously received. Stealing a Saucepan.—Henry Ayers was charged with stealing, on or about July 27, one saucepau of the value of 5«, the property of Margaret Gore. —Sergean' O'Neill stated that the accused, who was a man of intemperate habits, went to Mrs Gore's house in Cumberland street on Sunday morning, "and soon efter he left a saucepan was fouud to be missing. The matter was reported to the police, and froro inquiries they made th y found that the accused had sold the saucepan to a lady in Castle street for 6d, representiug that he was a digger who was hard up and wanted some money to get a drink. — Sergeant-major Bevin informed the bench that there were 10 previous convictions for different offences against the accused, who was sent to gaol for one month.
