MASONIC FUNERAL.

■ Th» remains of the late Bro.' Thomas' Tayler were interred with: full Masonic honours on Saturday, July sthj in his family grave at Port Chalmers. ;'A' dispensation fpermitting 'the rnambek of the. Port Ohaimsr» Masonio Lidga No. 942, E.C., to appear) in -Masonic clothing having been sraoted by-the R W.D.G.M., Bro. J. Hyde Harris, the.brethren mustered in full force yani the1 Lodge.having been opened at 2 p.m.'by the W.M., Bro. w; Murray; the customary observances of the craft were impresßively carried out.' Thence the Lodge, having been joined by the R.W.M., officers',' and members of the' Cargill Kilwinning Lodge, No. G32, the R.W.M. and officers of the St. Andrew's Lodge, No. 432, and the R.W.. Masters of the Ota-^o Kilwinning and Celtic Lodges, Soottish Constitution, proceeded to the late residence of their deceased brother, and,, having formed procession, accompanied the re mains to the cametery. The service of the • Church of England having been rendered by the Rev. I?. J. Sotham, the Masonic ceremonial was then proceeded with, Bro. Mor. ray, the W.M., assisted by Bro. P.M. Ritchie, reading the beautiful .ritual of the Order in,a moat impressive manner.. This1 being, concluded, the brethren advanced ,to, the gtave, and each cust upon the coffin an evergreen sprig, the Direator of Ceretnoniea braaking Mj wand and casting it, together with a cypress wreath, npon it. The brethren then re-formed into procession and returned to their Lodge, which was formally Vo3ed at 5 p.m. : .
