LATEST FROM THE NORTH.
We extract the following from a late number of the Wellington Advertiser, brought us by the Lord Worsley : —" The Governor is on a visit to the Waikato country. A declaration of his Native policy is published. The leading idea of it is to govern the Maories through themselves ; and the proposed form of government resembles that introduced at the Cape of Good Hope. There is no Minister for Native Affairs : Mr. Mantell has resigned. With this exception the Cabinet remains unchanged.
