Second String For H.F. Nicoll

Nicoll is m a happy position, 'for he has a second leg, and a likely one, too, m the Flying Cloud. This filly will improve a good deal on the form she displayed m the Selma Trot at Ashburton, where she did not appear to be unduly knocked about m the hopeless chase of Ayrmont Chimes and Real Girl. The way the Wrack-Pearlchild filly did her work left a gpod impression, and although another Derby candidate lin Colorado finished right alongside Flying Cloud, there was really no comparison m the efforts of the two.
