DRESS URGE
Desire To Stitch THE better you are with your needle the more money you can salve. When* the birds begin to sing and the bush is full of flowers— well, then it is that we need something new.' The "dress" urge becomes impera- '. tive, and no attempt should be made to combat it. Women must have some form of self-expression and dressmaking opens up a wide and interesting ayenue— besides, as already pointed out— saving money. If you are not as efficient at N dressmaking as you would like to be you should learn, for you will thus have a distinct advantage over tfie non-dressmakers. If you are really efficient with your ' needle, your scope is almost unlimited. You can create pleasing effects for yourself, and perhaps help your friends, and with a good pattern it is not so difficult as it may appear. All are m quest of a simple and practical frock, and as likely as not you have some old friends hanging m the wardrobe which, with a stitch here and there and a few deft touches, could be transformed into an up-to-the-minute creation. . 'Tis a pity to let these old friends rust out. Far better if -at all possible to adapt them to 1930 requirements."
