According to cabled advice recently received by the Shell Co. of N.Z. Ltd., Varzi has won the Grand Prix of Italy, with an average speed of 150.4 kms. Varzi evidently has a mortgage on the Grand Prix, for he won this event last year, ancl also set up a new record. He also has to his credit the Royal Grand Prix of Rome which he won m record time. On various courses Varzi has shown his remarkable driving skill, and m the circuit of Montenero race -he again took the honors and record time. Apart from annexing the Grand Prix of Italy a- second ; time, he has also come first .m the circuit of Alessandria race, m which he established a new record over a given distance. He also won the 21a Florio Shield, establishing a new record over a given distance on the track.
