UREN BEATS EAGEL.

A Colorless Contest. (By Cable— Special to N.Z. "Truth.") SYDNEY, March 8. Up to the tenth round to-night Tommy Uren (10.7) and George Eagel (10.3V4) gave one of the worst displays seen at the Rushcutter*s Bay arena for some time. The spectators were almost on the verge of going to sleep and had to employ hoots and cat-calls to keep themselves awake. And m doing so they shook up the pair of pugs, who were enter'tainihg them, from their lethargy. Eagel woke up first and m the eleventh banged a left to the jaw and shook Tommy from his heels to the part m his hair. It looked odds on then for a sudden ending. But the Australian was too cunning and stayed to battle on. Eagel went close to scorJrtg a knock-out a couple of times after that, but luck and Uren were against him. Uren won on points.
