In answer to a question complainant said that Carroll was a frequent visitor to her place, but only when her husband was at home. She had on one occasion asked a Mr. Haines to stay with her until her husband returned, as she was afraid there was going to be "dirty work." There "was not-a' woman around the mill, she declared, who could call her name her own. Defendant was convicted and ordered, to pay £5 and costs.
