(By "Renown."); The Paeroa meeting will be held today. Good fields are engaged m air the events except the Cup for which a very ordinary lot have accepted. The hurdles field includes several horses that have shown good form. Explorer is. top weight and is bound to command heavy support. Mahgoloire is nicely weighted with 9.6, while the racing Ditto has had on the flat should bring her back to her best. Among the two-year-olds m the Karangahake Handicap, Master Doon, Town Bank and Lady Rewa. have the best form to recommend them. The latter may find five furlongs too short, and Master Doon and Town Bank may again fight out the finish as at Te, Aroha. Eight horses remain m the Cup and class cannot be said to be present to any great extent. Tinohoro, elect of the Hannon stable, may be the actual favorite on the day. * Alfort ran two solid races at Te Aroha and should not be far away at the finish. Malatour has given promise of staying on and is given a chance m this event. Tarleton, Esthonia, and Arizona Maid look the best of those engaged m the Netherton Welter. Miss Egypt should be all the better for the race she had at Te Aroha and if reserved for the Waihi Handicap, . should give a good account of herself. Irapuka and Loch Abbey may be the best of the others. . • Vociferate and Raymond ran first and second at Thames m the steeples and will not lack for supporters m the Hauraki Plains Steeplechase to-day. Thiganthu jumps well, but may not be ready yet. A big field has paid up for the maiden race, Highflown and Bir El Abd being at the top 'of the handicap. Kuhio may improve on Thames running. Peter Rosa, Desert Glow and Archibald should. have a 3ay m the finish of the Komata Handicap.
