" BULLTOWN BLUNDERS."

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,— As a spectator at the Rangitikei races yesterday I could not help being struck with the inconsistency and- inability of the stewards. At their meeting m January for a case of interference they disqualified Apiti for the race and the rider (W. Young) for six months. Before half the rider's sentence expired the stewards removed the disqualification. Yester-, day, for a similar case of gross interference, they let both horse and rider off scot free. No doubt the ownership of the winning horse bad something to do with the decision arIrived at.— Yours, etc.. SPECTATOR. Feilding, Sept. 20, 1906.
