GALLOI'S AT AWAPTOI USEFUL EFFORT BY SOLVER (0.C.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday Tho tracks were heavy after rain at Awapuni this morning, and the course proper was open only to horses engaged at New Plymouth and Wanganui. One of the best efforts was that of Solver (A. Watldell), who maintained a steady pace to complete a mile in 2.0, the last live furlongs in 1.13 2-5. Lord Bradbury and Sir Bradbury worked separately over seven furlongs, but neither was extended. Sir Bradbury ran tho Inst throe in 45# Tahli worked kindly over a ruund. Alethea (Sellars) was given a working gallop, covering tho last three furlongs iu 475. After being in behind to the straight, Theolateral (Brougbton) ran up to Czarina to complete six furlongs in 1.27 2-5, the li|«t three in 41s. Omahina (A. Waddoll) maintained a steady pace throughout in running five furlongs in 1.15. Reversion (Walker) went once round, coming homo tho last three furlongs in 43 2-58. Caelus (Pagan) and Kiwi Pai (Midwood) jumped six hurdles on the new track this morning and gavo a splondid exhibition. Kiwi Pai jumped faster than Caelus, but they were together approaching each fence. Speed King (Stevens), School Tie (Rouse) and Ideation (Jenkins) were associated in a similar trial. HAMILTON, Tuesday "The splendid fields entered at the various meetings demonstrated clearly that trotting is going ahead by leaps and bounds." said Mr H, Windsor, president of the Waikato Trotting Club, at the annual meeting last night. Mr Windsor said the club's shnro of the profit from the amalgamated South Auckland Clubs' meetings at Ctaudelands was highly satisfactory.
